Dear music lover,
Old Lords was originally active in 1991 - 1992. It was dormant more than 20 years until it woke up again to play a set at friend's birthday bash in February 2013. Lords noticed how cool band they actually had in their hands, deciding to be more active in coming years. Measured by Old Lords scale active means an average of one gig per annum and one recording session. There might have been even one rehearsal if it happened to be a hyperactive year.
Anyway, train kept rolling and band started to compose new songs. More than half of the tracks on This was, this is album have been born during recording session years. The first session was at Powerhouse Studio in December 2014 where Angel in disguise, Happy wino and It's raining in St. Petersburg were recorded. Next summer Lords packed their gear in a boat, recording Sam and Maggie on isolated island at Outamo Studio.
In 2016 no new songs were recorded, but mixing and some overdubs were added to already recorded material. At the end of 2017 there was active period when Bad dog, Ecstasy, Night time, Stud and Surfin' Cowboy were recorded at Poco Loco Studio. This was done in two sessions as there was no chance to find a common slot to have all group members in studio at the same time. Sounds like a mega rock band action!
V-P completed mixing at Chaltenriet Studio in April 2018 and material was delivered to Timmion Records for mastering. The album was released in August 2018 by Surfin' Cowboy Records. Only 300 copies were pressed. Play it loud folks and enjoy!
